I am in the market for a Kestrel CSX...don't ask why, I just want one. I saw this add and was suprised. He started off asking $1500 as the opening bid, but I emailed him and told him he was way too high. Looks like he still didn't take me serious. Check out the 1995 components. Nice XT friction shifters!
How about this one?sn69

The measurements are meaningless and the rims look like they were started on a tennis raquet machine. Still, it's a nice looking frame.

That is some funny stuffspookyload

I love the measurement of 42" in length. I also like the rim spoke lenght he gave. Seems odd that a new Schwinn comes with Shimano downtube shifter guides installed.
Ans the frame is upside down. nmLen J

But I think that is a serotta built ti frame.
I don't think Serrotta built them, but I too think it's tiTJeanloz

And that would make it a bargain.

It has serotta drops, rear triangle and st/dt. In the pic you can see the colorado concept st. Even the bb cable guide is the same kind Serotta uses (not that that really means much, but it backs up my point)

Serotta did build the ti Paramounts. They were on the same level as the concours. It would be an incredible bargain if it is for real.
I concur...Chicago_Steve

the chainstays look a little thicker and less curvy in the pictures then the Schwinns I've seen... Also I've never seen this frame with exposed metal in the chain/seat stays...
he dropped it nmandy02

the xt shifters are index rear/friction front. the mountain equivalent of d-a downtube shifters. light and reliable, still preferred by some.....

I'd say they are older than that. They look to be about 1990 vintage to me. I had the exact same XT thumbies on my 1990 stumpjumper, and if I'm not mistaken that fork looks like the Original Rock Shox RS-1....the one with the pink stickers. I had that same fork. It's probably a collectors item by now.

It's a cool vintage MTB no doubt, but I would ditch those V-brakes and put some old matching XT cantis on it (not the low-profile ones). $1500????? Yeah right.

Ahhhhh, the memories.
