im trying to burn some of my friends on a 6 mile time trial over rolling terrain. my current time is 16:27. is that considered a fast time? im 18 years old and a college freshmen, and ive been riding for 4 months.

That's about 22 mph, I think. Not bad. A fast (capable of winning a Cat 5 10 mile time trial) beginning racer would probably be around 24-25 mph.

All depends on how fast your buddies are. They easily could be faster or slower than you.

Are you using aerobars? If not, you might get another .5-1 mph, which is huge, actually.

Damn, and here to think I was pretty fast. There's a flat, 3.3 mile loop around a lake next to my house, no matter how hard I try, I can't beat 8:07...
