But they are starting to push the weight envelope with a lot of this stuff, and the shot peened black surface (used by some of them anyway) is supposed to improve fatigue life. But I think it's also fashion, and maybe it's cheaper, too. You can still get Thomson stems in silver. I don't know of any bars, though. I still ride with old school Cinelli bars/stems. |
