Moral dilemma - is it right to buy another Bianchi?Iwannapodiumgirl

My name is Iwannapodiumgirl, and I'm a Celestephile.

I have been obsessed with celeste ever since I saw a Celeste TSX in the LBS window 10 years ago...

My current ride is a 2001 Mercatone Uno coloured XLEV2, full Record, Neutron wheels... I even have a Pantani Flite saddle! See, I am obsessed - I sit on Pantani's face every time I ride, and I love it ;o)

I have seen a 2001 Mercatone Uno coloured Boron XL frameset, that is just my size. I have been thinking of getting a steel bike for longer rides for a while now...

So, is it right for me to buy a second Bianchi, the same colour as my other Bianchi, yet steel? Or should I spread my riding experience to say a Pinarello Opera or Colnago MXL?

Sleepless nights await me I'm sure until I resolve this ethical dilemma...

Really, sleepless nights? Sleepless nights are for the woman you secretly love, and want to marry, during that special time in your life... I understand the facetiousness in your post, but I think you need to swallow your fears, and approach the woman you are thinking about, as encapsulated in your post. Be honest. This post of your is not about a bike; it is about a woman.

I think your entire post is a metaphor for your personal life; I applaud you, and I do not want to scare you away from posting about it. I can see that you want her. But you must never cheat on a woman. You have a lot to think about young man. Again, I applaud you.

I feel your pain. I have three Bianchis, an Eros, a Pista, and the new FS Ibex - none of which is Celeste. The closest I have come is the celeste writing on the Ibex :-(

I buy lots of Team Bianchi handlebar tape - it makes me feel a little better.

Enjoy Celeste!

H'mmm. lots of Reparte Corse Cyclocross frames on Ebay lately...

I just bought one!!! It is schweet!!

Yes, this at least the third time I've mentioned it in a post in the last week, but I'm in love! And celeste is undoubtedly the best color there is for a bike.

Just think about that TSX or an ELOS that you could have bought. The stuff they make now are not "real" Bianchi's. The Boron, is the only thing that they make now, that has any of the real blood of Bianchi, in it.
Old Ed Bianchi must be spinning in his grave, when he sees the stuff that they are selling with his name on it.
The same rules don't apply to Celesteterry b

Some may argue that multiple bikes is a silly thing, "you can only ride one at a time." This logic does not apply to Celeste Bianchis however - it doesn't matter how many you have, they all meld into a single collective organism. 100 Celeste Bianchis still count as one.

That said, I have a 2001 Mercatone Boron XL and you should too.

the Harbour and ANZAC Bridges as the inaugural ride.

By this point, it is not a question of need, it's a question of wanton lust. So get it. It is the only thing that will satisfy your appetite.

I once owned a mid-80s Celeste steel Bianchi and then bought a newer aluminum Alloro also in Celeste. Loved them both, but finally concluded that the Bianchi geometry (particularly the newer ones) just didn't fit me. Then I bought a steel Eddy Merckx, which fit just right. Now I own two Eddies. ... You need two good bikes, so you always have something to ride if one of them is in the shop or needs new tires, etc. Personally I would be tempted to try something different. But if the Bianchi geometry suits you, no harm sticking with what works.

I have an 80's Bianchi that is currently painted black that I would like to painted Celeste. Anybody know a place near the Bay Area in California that will do powdercoat relatively cheap in Celeste?

Anyone have any feedback on the 03 Bianchi XL Boron Centaur or Chorus? I have been toying with the idea of a relatively light steel bike.
