Ebay stolen item of the dayspookyload

I saw this no reserve auction for a new Cannondale with the tags still on it. Seems odd that someone would sell a $3500 bike on ebay with no reserve. To top it off, the seller has no feedback. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3627740152&category=27948
I suspect you are right but....biknben

I'm tempted to bid. That's the only way I could afford it. :-)

money order or cashiers check. Why bother to steal the bike when you can just conduct a fraudulent sale?

a thief woudn't be dumb enough to give you the sn if it was indeed stolen. Likely, he just wouldn't respond. I've tried it a couple times with suspect sellers and gotten no response. Other times poeple are more than willing to give the sn if it means selling their bike.

Yeah, contact Cannondale. They can tell you if it has been reported as stolen by a dealer (if stolen, it probably came from a dealer, since it still has the warrenty card).

Of note tho, the serial number on my Cannondale Caad5 is really hard to read, because half of it is underneath the plastic cable router underneat the bottom bracket. To see the whole thing you have to loosen the cables and move it out of the way, thus loosing your derailleur adjustment. Kind of silly.

the serial number additionally on a bar-code stuck under the BB shell. BTW, the bike retails for around $4500 and even $6500 in Europe. The specs of the pictured bike don't correspond to the original however.
It was pulled by Ebay. (nm)TFerguson
