Helium rimswily in pacifica

I need to replace my rear 28 hole Helium clincher rim but heard they are very hard to come by. Anyone know where I can get one or a similar Mavic red rim. I hate to even ask for the 26 hole front but will need one eventually so any help with one of these is appreciated.

Either use any other 28 hole rim or send back to Mavic, as they still support these wheels. A decent shop should be able to send back to Mavic for you.
28 hole is easy, red is hardKerry Irons

Your challenge is getting a matching RED 28 hole rim. MAVIC is probably your primary source, and the smart money says they don't have many rims in stock for a 5 year old wheel. Only one way to find out - ask them!

Velocity makes the Aerohead in a 28 hole drilling with a Red powdercoat finish. Its not a box rim, like the helium, but its a nice rim and the color isn't far off the helium anodized red. I have a set on American Classic hubs.
I also have several pairs of heliums, and have wondered where to find a 26 hole for the front. I haven't found one from any current source. I am going to start looking on ebay for front rims.

It´s very expensive to send them to mavic, so don´t.
You can´t find any 26h rims, because nobody makes them.

I build a front wheel with a 28h rim, leaving 2 holes open.
It works fine, but then again I only weigh 62kg.

The spokes are special, so you have to use a simular rim as well.

well actually my friend who manages a bike shop got it in quite short order (a few days), so I would assume any bike shop can get these no problem.
If you change to a different rim.............MR_GRUMPY

it MUST have the same ERD as the Helium, or open pro rim. Otherwise, the spokes won't fit. One rim that works, is a Sun M-19. Yes, it's a sew up rim, but it makes a great racing wheel.
Mavic has them in big deal nmsamcat
