Is anybody familiar with this bike? I am new to road riding and my friend has this bike with 105 groupo for sale. Any comments on the bike?

If so, I had the same thing, re-badged as a Univega Carbolite, ca. 1992. Not remarkably light, not super plush, but it handles well and is comfortable. Held together very well, no problems with the frame tubes separating from the lugs or CF strands unraveling. If the bike's in good condition, I'd say it's a fine first bike; depending on mileage, upgrades and overall condition, it's worth $450-$500 at most, if it has STI, and $75-$100 less if it has the downtube shifters.

Thanks for the opinion - I have not seen the bike yet and I will post another comment once I have a look. I am new to road riding and do not want to spend a bunch of $$ until I know what I like - any suggestions?

I have the model after the Cadex. It is a 96 CFR1 with carbon frame and aluminium lugs. It is a bit heavy now but a very solid bike and well made.
I would guess that the bike you are looking at should cost no more than $400AUD or about half that in US dollars.

CHEERS.
