Have been commuting past 8 years - 4 miles via my MTB, then last month the company moved 6 more miles away...
Quite a difference, so I decided to purchase my first Road Bike for the new distance, this morning was the first time.

Wow.

So much faster, {no more messing around on the sidewalk once in a while just for fun}, all business, tears in my eyes, catching back up to the cars when they have to stop for the lights, only downside is I'm so much more careful of where the front tire is going (or going to be) and all the little this&that's on the road, no big deal tho. Still gotta tweak the cockpit in, guess it'll take time.

BTW: bike is new '03 Gunnar roadie, triple w/stock 105 components.
Congrats on the new bikeJFR

Fun, eh?

But you better wear glasses, "tears in my eyes" does not make for good vision. (maybe it was just an experession?)

I predict, in the not so distant future, that your bike will try to convince you to lengthen your return leg home to get more miles.

Enjoy.

Watery eyes; my prescription glasses are not great wind protection at above 20mph & don't have a computer {yet} but think I'm averaging over 15mph & hitting over 30 two times.

Actually thinking of taking a longer way home today!
