|Parking/viewing spot suggestion for SF Grand Prix?||K_Zero|
Sep 13, 2003 2:44 PM
|So I just found that SF Grand Prix is tomorrow, and I'm trying to figure out where I should park & view the race. I don't have to be close to the finish or anything...as long as I don't have to park too far from the course, I'll be happy. Any suggestions?
I first thought of taking Caltrain to Embercadero, but then I figured traffic can't be that bad...can it?

|Take your car and your bike. Park 3 or 4 miles away and bike to the Fillmore street hill and watch it there. That hill is steep, and they will be going very slow, even weaving from one side of the street to the next near the end. That is your best bet. Take pictures.|
|Thx, I think that'll be my best option...||K_Zero|

|Apparenlty Caltrain doesn't run on weekend anymore, so I guess I'll be driving.

|The start finish is at the Embarcadero and all the booths where you can pick up all the swag are there too. There are a few hills near there too. If you drive and take your bike, there is bike parking near the Embarcadero too.|

|Our local news channel will be broadcasting the entire race live. Got any friends in the bayarea that could record it for you? I'd like to help, but I don't have VCR (Tivo baby!)

|I'm in the bay area. Just checked 'Guide' on Tivo and KGO has normal shows listed. No race coverage.
How are you finding it ? What time range are you recording ? Could be that Tivo listings are not correct.
Thank you in advance !

|Unfortunately I believe OLN will be showing i 1 hour highlight on thurs. sept 25th. Somehow, I had thought there would be live coverage but I can't seem to find any network (NYarea) covering this.|| |
