and this is what I ended up with! I had hoped to put off my new bike purchade until next spring...but I locked eyes on this one and it was lust....

CT1
Fully Camy Carbon Record 10
Easton EC90 Bars

The deal was that I had to buy the bike as is, i.e. the wheels. (got it a a good price: about 20% off)
The wheels would not have been my choice but they give the bike a nice look. Anyone know anything about them. I have done some research and been a able to lean a bit about them.

BTW: 17.75lbs with water bottles and peddles...

Guess what I am doing this weekend!? Yup, that is right going out and finding the perfect beach cruiser for my wide that she never got last weekend......
Check out Del Sol and Dyno (don't show this picture to wife!)Tig

Haro makes a cool Del Sol cruiser for women with an aluminum frame in their "SPF" line. http://www.delsolbikes.com/bikes.html

Dyno makes even cooler cruisers. http://www.kustomkruiser.com/catalog/moto.html

I love my CT1. Not wild about the Easton bars, which I'm going to take off of mine, but to each his own. I went for plain jane Mavic Ks, but what the heck.

Are the wheels Alps that are missing the Alps decals?

You could always sell the wheels on ebay. The alps are a bit heavy for carbon wheels- and they are clinchers from the looks of them? They are durable enough for everyday riding, but do you really want to use them daily ? (seems a bit poseurish to show up at a club ride on them...).

Tri guys love them- so you might be able to get a nice chunk of change on ebay ($600-700 if new).

Let's get this straight:

You didn't buy your wife a present, yet you still got HED ?

You, my friend, are my hero

Is that the new steel CT1?mickey-mac

After seeing you on the Lemond and discussing the merits of steel with you, I didn't expect to see this. Another traitor. ;-) Seriously, though, that's a nice bike. Where'd you pick it up?

I thought about getting a new steel. But, obvioulsy went ti. I will be tearing down my lemond. Sending it off for a complete refurb/repaint and building it up again. I love steel. I guess I just lusted after the CT1.

The ride is really nice. I have the fit almost dialed in...
