|So my Castelli PY2/VT shorts have given up the ghost today. I'd like to replace them with bibs, but am unsure of what to get - here's what I'm thinking:
Assos FI 13 - apparently top-of-the-line, but some complain the chamois is to thin?
Assos FI Mille - better than the FI 13?
Castelli PY2/VT - how does it compare to the Assos?
Any other bibs I haven't mentioned that you recommend?

|I was not happy with my pair of Castellis. The fit wasn't right. However, after listening to a friend wax on and on about Volers, I bought a couple of pairs (I figured they were cheap enough and if I hated them they'd go to eBay) ... and I love them.
Of course, as with shoes, saddles, pedals ... it's up to your own fit.

|Voler bibs sell for $55 and periodically go on sale for less. For that price, you could buy 2-3 pairs for the price of Castellis. I've got 4 pairs of Volers and have used Santini, Louis Garneau and Performance. Volers are the best of that bunch. |

I recently ordered some bib tights and shorts -- no brands are advertised, but you can tell from the photo what you are getting. The Schwinn-logo bib shorts were made by De Marche -- good quality Italian brand -- for about $40. Ditto with the bib tights. Some of their stuff is Castelli, some Giordana, and all of it is really cheap. I'm pleased....

|Campagnolo Metal Reflective Trim bib Short.
If you'll pardon my saying so, it has a great chamois that doesn't quit before the "package" does (unlike PI which leave nothing to the imagination), and my wife likes the way they look from behind!
Also very comfy for me.

|I have the Assos Mille and the Cast. PY2/VT. I love both but the Milles are really best for Centuries and farther. They are expensive but outstanding in terms of comfort. I wear the PY2/VT bibs for my 50-60 miles weekly training rides. They can be gotten on Ebay for $90...great deal.|

|I have the Assos Mille and they are the best - expensive but worth it. For a nice pair of relatively-budget bibs from a great company, try Boure (www.boure.com). Made in the USA. I have the Boure bibs and other stuff and its really good, comfy, stuff.|

|Never had the Assos F13, but I prefer the Castelli Progettos to the Assos Campionissimo bibs. YMMV.|| |
