|$7500 for a bike and it is the wrong size?? what the hell..?||african|

|That's funny!! I have <$3000 in mine.||dirthead|

|I have the same bike, with Campy Eurus wheels, instead of the 404's, and similar components, and have less than $3000 invested, with everything purchased new. If he paid $7500, he got SCREWED by somebody. I could have built TWO of that exact bike, and spent way less than that.
By the way, HOW DO YOU SPEND $7500 ON A BIKE AND NOT GET THE CORRECT SIZE?????????? Sounds like somebody with way more money than common sense.

|...more money than sense. Even ignoring the question of how you spend that much $$$ and get the wrong size, why sell the whole bike?!? All you need to replace is the frame.|
|Can you really believe anything you read on ebay?||Fez|

|People are always inflating claims on what they spent on something. Claiming you spent that much would only prove how much of an idiot you are.
And it probably isn't the wrong size. If it was, he could just get the correct frame size.
Other possibilites: stolen, broken, doesn't like it, etc.

|Interesting isn't it? Either he recently had a growth spurt ; ) or he's independently wealthy and tricked it out all-the-while thinking, "Hmmm, this bike just feels too small for me but maybe I should add some additional micro lightweight components to it and that will make it feel big enough!"
I also liked how his username has recently been changed... can you say, "Dear Sir", when he addresses you in his first email to you?

|Just my size, I Want it. Its equiped with every item I would like to have on my bike but am too cheap to buy.
But, look at what the guy purchased recently.
There is an Ebay scam where they steal the user name from someone with good feedback that has been inactive. (scam the password from a user using bogus emails and web pages). They then sell high ticket items on ebay, then run off with the money. Tough to track them down.
The name change along with purchasing only ties in the last 6 months make you wonder????

|Some poor, needy, acne-ridden teenage boy goes out to buy a hot bike thinking, "man, now Brie will date me for sure" and (a) he gets ripped off--paying 7,500 bucks for a bike built around a frame that, brand new and direct from the manufacturer, costs 1299 bucks, with fork and headset included, (b) he has a growth spurt, so now he cannot even ride the thing without terrible neck pain, and what with his voice changing and all he's even more embarassed to ask for a date, and (c) Brie was never gonna date him anyway and has, like, no interest in bicycles whatsoever.
And all you can do is MAKE FUN of him. Heartless.

|You are absolutely correct! We are-plain and simple-heartless bastards.
By the way... Brie says, "Hi".

|Better deal here!!||wspokes|
Sep 11, 2003 7:46 AM
|Here's a better deal!! See the car behind all the bikes in the attached photo. I have over $10000 invested in it when new and the odometer still only reads 12000 for a 93 car...honest..it is a premo caravan vehicle...it just doesn't fit my needs anymore but I am willing to part it out to try and get my money back out of it.
These people who post these items for sell must think the world is retarded. Maybe he should put this up for sell on Ebay Nigeria.

|I was just reading an article yesterday about this exact situation in Bicycle Retailer and Industry News. Apparently some LBS employees are stealing inventory and putting it up on ebay for a quick turnaround. By the time the LBS owner runs an inventory check and finds $30-40k worth of stuff missing, it's all long gone and unrecoverable.
Not to insinuate that this person is selling a stolen bike. It's just an odd coincidence.

|Fondriest in Italy? I need the info to add to the next trip file. I found a Basso at a store in Siena but was lucky they had a 56 as it was the only roadie they had.
Thx for the info

|Actually, the bikes are rented through the hotel.
