|this is the police report from the news journal online. Nothing more to the story yet as far as I've found. Very scary to me since this is where I grew up and I've ridden on that same road.
BICYCLIST DIES: A 52-year-old Newark man died Sunday from injuries suffered in a Saturday afternoon bicycle accident in Pike Creek, police said. State police said Allen Rockwell was riding a Trek 5200 bicycle south on the shoulder of Del. 72 about 12:15 p.m. when his front tire apparently blew out as he was traveling down a steep hill. Police said Rockwell was thrown over the handlebars and landed on the road's shoulder. Rockwell was admitted to Christiana Hospital in critical condition with head injuries. He died 12 hours later.

|Scary as it is, I just returned from the Black Hills in SD where the state has erected a sign at EACH location of motor vehicle fatality that read "Think, Don't Die" etc... reminding motorists of the huge number of people who die on the roads. There were so many of them, I initially thought they were marking underground wires, until I read about the signs on a map.|

|do you find it strange that the news source not only stated the brand of bicycle, but model?|

|I have never seen that before. The person doing the report must have been a biker I would guess.

|I don't generally read them, but I guess they are as detailed as the report itself is. I thought it was odd that the bike was mentioned by no mention of a helmet.|
|They should have said...||superdog|
