|Anyone else have problems with Astrale 8 staying put?||hrv|

|Wanted a better cadence hookup than my Sigma 1400 so got an Astrale 8 about a month ago. On the first ride I took with it I ended up knocking it off its mount when I reached for some snacks, not to be found until the next day when I drove up to look for it. Thought I didn't have it pressed firmly in place so didn't think I needed to do anything further. Either that or I was too lazy to do anything else.
Last night I'm racing in the weekly practise crit and knocked into it again when I undid my arm warmers and it went flying. Found it after the race;it was working but had a cracked casing. Has anyone else done something like this?
There's no way I'm going to zip tie it on. Anyone have an elegant solution for this, other than returning it to Cateye
since I think it's a design flaw? The Sigma locked in securely and never had this problem with it.

|I had the unit for a couple of months with no real problems.
A couple of times, I got no reading. Then I noticed I did not get the unit fully snapped on. Fortunately I noticed before it fell off.
I find that once mine is snapped in it is very secure. You have to press down on the tab to get it off.
I would take yours back to see if you can get it replaced. Could be an issolated problem.

|I guess that's the problem - I don't have to press anything to get it off, hence its airborn feature!
I either missed something when I installed it or it was an isolated problem, as you say. I'll see what my shop/Cateye can do.

|I've been using one for several months and have had no problems of this type. Mine seems to click into the mount securely and has stayed put in spite of several (admittedly minor) bumps. Perhaps you got a bad unit???|| |
