crank arm length and knee painthe greek

I recently changed my cranks from 170 to 175. I am experiencing a bit of knee pain but nothing severe.

Can crankarm length effect joint pain?
....yes my saddle to pedal height is the same.

I dont think height is the problem, I think saddle fore/aft may be the greater issue. Going so much bigger, I would consider moving your saddle slightly forward as the mythical "KOPS" setup would be exaggerated. I really dont think your pain will last long, as you are likely getting some tendonitis-type issues. I experienced this just earlier this season with an even smaller move... from 170 to 172.5. I think the "shearing" forces on the kneecap area are increased when you increase crank length. I didn't really have time for the pain, so I just went back to 170.

Just my experience
