Hi guys and ladies,

I'm interested in getting my wife a bike. She likes mine and we're going to ride some together. She doesn't like the hybrid upright posture.

I'm thinking of getting her the bike listed in the classifieds and have two questions.

Shoudl the bike approximately fit her, she's a regular 5'0" person and the second part is the guy wants me to send half now and half after I get it. Is that standard?

Sorry, I've never done such a thing and am a little nervous sending someone money prior to getting anything. Visions of guys running off and laughing while at money I sent them, remiscient of Nigeria lottery tickets.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Don't just "guess" at the fit. I'm betting that a 40cm bike is too small for a 5'0" rider. I would expect her to be on a 43 or 45. Take a few measurements, go to the Canny website and see if you can get the frame geometry.

As for the expense, ask him to send it COD. He gets his protection, and you can at least peek in the box (though not much else) before handing over your dough.
Thanks. I'll get my wife fitted. nmlotterypick
