|What color bar tape should I go with this frame, I originally chose gray but was thinking white might look nicer. What color would you chose?|

|Everytime I've met someone with white bar tape, the tape is always nasty looking. It gets built up with dirt and dye from your gloves pretty quickly. I agree with Mudman, stay with a dark grey or black tape. Nice bike.|

|in 2 rides your white will be brownish-gray where ever you rest your hand. not pretty!
yellow is a little better, but still shows dirt. black, grey, or some yellow/black/grey combo would be best and least likely to show all the dirt & bugs.

|Go buy the tape without a sticky backing, then when it gets dirty, just re-wrap using the other side. Presto, chango, "new" bar wrap without spending an extra dime!
I find that I get 2-3 months out of my white wrap before it gets too dirty to stand. Flip it over, and you get another 2-3 months.
You want the best looking bike out there, right? The pros use white tape, right? Well, there ya go! Just do us a favor and don't use white cable housing.

|I would probably go with yellow tape and yellow highlights on the tires. If that does not work, go with black tape and maybe pickup the yellow in a black seat with yellow highlights.
White does not wear well and will look dirty quickly.

|It looks terrible within a few weeks.
I'd go with black and yellow splatters. The black hides dirt and the yellow will go with the decals on the frame.

|I have 1400 miles on my first round with white bar tape. I don't obsess about keeping it clean, but I do avoid grabbing the bars with greasy/dirty hands.
From afar, they just look white; up close they have developed a slightly worn-in look. Not "dirty" in my eyes. I like the way they look on an otherwise spotless bike. It adds personality to the bike and shows it's really ridden, not (just) a trophy piece. I look forward to my tape "wearing-in" more.
It's kinda like seeing a race car in a museum and noticing wear marks on the seat and steering wheel... the car is that much more "real" because you can SEE where somebody sat and steered the beast.
I've seen very nice bikes before with worn-in white tape and the bikes were somehow that much cooler to me.
Then again, maybe I've just been watching too much Shabby Chic with Lisa... darn HGTV

|I used to have a hard and fast rule that ALL bikes have a black saddle and white tape. I'm older and mellower now and allow the tape to match the decal color but NEVER EVER black. Black tape tells me the owner is lazy and has no style. The dirtiest white tape always looks better than new black tape. If all the shop had was black tape I'd wrap my bars with masking tape. I'd quit the sport before I'd use black tape.
A friend of mine has the same bike with yellow tape and black/yellow Vittoria CX tires, looks great.
