I went out on an early morning ride today so I may take my kids to the park later today. It seems I experienced some of the negatives about cycling today. That is loud mouth drivers. I got yelled at three times today. Some jack a$$ yelled at me you're going to break that bike. Here I am trying to do something good for myself, and I have to put up with this crap. I did get a fifteen mile ride in today. I keep plugging away. I have lost a total of five pounds now.

"Some jack a$$ yelled at me you're going to break that bike."

Maybe the driver was complimenting you. He could have been talking about the bike breaking under your massive, crank-warping power.

That would definitely be a goal to acheive. That isn't me yet though. I am sure they are talking about my weight. I didn't find it funny. It is actually disheartening. I am out there making an effort, and someone has to chime their opinion. It isn't easy being a big man. I have fought this most of my life. People look at you as if you are dirty. I am a sucessful man looking to become successful in taking the weight off. I need encouragement; not society's stereotypes.

Just remind yourself, you are out on your bike, getting fit. They are in their cars, getting fat...

Keep up the good work.

No matter how successful you are at any goal there will always be a$$ holes who will try and bring you down.

Chances are, you will never be as good a cyclist as Lance Armstrong. People say negative things about him all the time. You realy have no control over what people do. What you do have control over is how you react to it. Use that control and don't let them bring you down.

Think about it like this. What if someone told you to jump off a bridge? Would you say "YES SIR" and do it, or would you tell them to go screw themself? Well, the next time someone tells you to feel bad about yourself, you refuse to follow their order. Let them go screw themselves.

I know it's easier to type than do. It takes practice but if you keep at your goal you will (unfortunately) get lots of practice.

I for one am proud to associate with you and wish you all the best in achieving your goal. I would be quite disapointed if you gave up on yourself now.

Anything else you do will set them off and could develop into a real problem. Most don't know how to react to a friendly smile and wave and just leave. (and maybe they won't bother the next cyclist)
