Lost my Thule keys(10 posts)

Lost my Thule keystazdag

It has been a bunch of years since I took my rack of my vehicle and have even moved since I last did. Now I can't find the keys and want to take the locked rack off. Anybody have ideas on what I should do?

The lock cores have a number on them (mine say n197). You can order new keys from thule if you have the numbers.

Thule only makes a few keys. If you can find the # on your locks, chances are your LBS (that sells Thule) has some of the proper keys floating around their spare parts box.

a Thule rack that someone had for four years, sold the old car and now they weren't "satisfied" with it because they now needed a hitch rack for there SUV.

All the Thule lock cores I have ever dealt with have the key codes on the lock cores themselves. Provide the codes to Thule and voila, new keys.

from Thule, any decent locksmith can fit keys to your locks, call around and ask.
Thule key codes?Ian

A couple of you have suggested getting the key codes off of the lock cores and calling Thule to order new keys. I am not that familiar with Thule, but aren't the codes printed on the core where they will not be visable when the rack is locked? If they are printed on the outside of the core that is visable on the rack, that would be about the stupidest thing I had ever heard. What good is it being locked if you tell everyone what key will open it? Imagine having your front door on your home locked, but a sign telling others what key opens the lock.
