I have off today. The forecast calls for showers with occasional heavy downpours. I was planning on at least 50 miles. Wimp out or be a man? =) (I've pretty much decided I'm going, but I need some positive reenforcement!Leaving the KG at home, though. It's rain/commuter bike time.)
Think!! Would a little rain stop MB1 or Miss M -nm-tmotz

I rode 50 miles on Labor day in a nice steady rain and it was one of my more enjoyable rides of the year.
You rode on Labor Day? Wow.Kristin

I don't know where you live, but I get a good view towards the city during my morning commute to Downers Grove. When the big cload appears over the lake, summer is definately over my friend.
It's ride or watch Jerry Springer, you decide! (nm)pitt83

My wife got po'ed at me becuase I did 50 miles in the rain Sunday morning while she was at church with the kids. She thought I should have stayed home and done the laundry and straightened the house (in prep for her mother's visit) NOT! Why do you think I voluntarily rode in the rain!!

As long as its' not cold, riding in the rain is fun. Just watch it in the turns. Be safe. Paul

52.4 miles, a blistering 15.9 mph avg speed. Didn't rain a drop. Sort of disappointed. Looked ominous the whole time, though. Not a bad ride, even if it was on the rain bike (old Nishiki-pictured on this board several times) which weighs a ton but who cares if it gets all "yucky"? Gotta go-I stink and I'l need a sand-blaster to get the road grime off of me (note to self-buy some fenders for that beast!).
That's cause it rained East of youJL

where I'm at. Thunder and lightnening, too. I did not get a ride in :(.

I know I told you to go, but I couldn't get my sorry a$$ out the door. Too much work to catch up on and too much rain (did I mention lightening) for my liking.

Glad you made it out.

Happy riding.

Rain -ok. lightening-BAD. You did the right thing.KG 361

I've heard that being struck by it is not a lot of fun (although, possibly, you could end up with super-human powers=) ).
Super powers!! Hmm. Maybe next time. Not ;) (nm)JL
