Question about Shimano shoes...(5 posts)

Question about Shimano shoes...97AccordBoy
Sep 3, 2003 12:24 PM
I'm looking at the Shimano R214s but I'm not sure if they'll fit right. I'm currently riding with Specialized shoes, which have a relatively large toebox. Is the toebox of Shimano shoes generally a little smaller?

Thanks,
James

I have Shimano Carbon road and Specialized MTB shoes and I think they both fit similar and have similar "roomy" toeboxes. I wear a 45.5 in both, maybe made in the same factory?

This won't answer your question, but I totally dig my shimano mtb shoes. I bought another pair on sale last year, figuring the other would die off, but after 3+ years of use they've refused to die. You can be confident in their construction.

I tried on some Shimano road shoes recently, and I found them to be pretty wide - to the point where I need to probably stick with Sidi or something with a thinner last.

I have the Shimano SHR-214s and an older pair of Specialized Team road shoes. Both are size 41 and the Shimano shoes are wider. You can probably go a half size smaller on the Shimanos. Love the toe room though.
