I have a job interview in Morgantown at the end of the week and I'm going to take my bike. Anybody know of good 1 to 2 hour rides around there?

I lived in Morgantown for seven years while teaching at WVU in the 80s. I have been back several times for visits. I basically gave up road cycling while I lived there. The country roads were very narrow and often in bad shape. Many were the regular routes of coal trucks and other big vehicles that scared the crap out of me. I resorted to putting my bike in the car and taking it out to Cooper's Rock to ride the park road back and forth. I also went up into Pennsylvania and over to Ohio to find places to ride.

Maybe there are some new possibilities that I am unaware of. I hope so.

If you have a mountain bike or cyclocross bike, though, Morgantown has a new trail from the Monongahela River up into the hills along a stream that is a lot of fun. You can also rent a bike from a nice store near the trail start. In addition, there are a lot of mtb trails throughout the state.
