Anyone own or try on these shoes? I currently have the genetix model, and I don't like them much, they are very stiff, but much heavier than most road shoes, and after 3 hours in the saddle, throbbing pain takes over. I need comfy shoes for the upcoming road season. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Very stiff, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
My problem is that the Northwave has a flat sole, and I have a rather high arch. The shape of sole doesn't support the middle section of my feet, therefore too much pressure is being put on the ball of my foot, and it starts to hurt after a few hours.
Like my sidi much better, with higher arch section, it fit my feet better. Not sure it's the same with your problem.

I like 'em. I'm a true Fred Flintstone foot, esp. for a woman, and this is the only shoe I've tried that has enough room in the forefoot and, unlike the Sidi Mega, isn't sloppy in the heel. But if it doesn't fit YOU, then it just isn't a good choice.

I use Superfeet in my bike shoes, so I actually haven't notice the lack of arch support.
