|Mavic "K" Question||JetSpeed|

|My Mavic "K's" came with a plastic tightening/adjusting wrench.
What exactly am I doing when I tighten/adjust
Also, exactly how much should I tighten these wheels?
I've mostly be checking them every 300-400 miles and
I've just been tightening them snugly. Is this correct?

|The wrench is for adjusting the hub bearing play. Set it as loose as possible without feeling any lateral play. Check this in several places along the rotation of a mounted wheel.|

|You are probably overtightening them. Leaving the wheel in the fork, or rear drops, the adjustment should be made so there is no play in the hub. If you are snugging them down, they are too tight. I check mine every 500-800 miles, depending on the conditions I've been riding in.|

|When you speak of lateral play, how exactly should I check for that? Grab the tire/wheel and attempt to move side to side a bit?
BTW, do you "K's" make a ticking noise when hammering out of the saddle? I'm wondering IF mine do. I had the ticking noise and when I tightened the wheels slightly it seems to have gone away. I heard from someone on this forum that some make noise-which kind of noise I don't know.
