After you figure out the basics of how to change a tire, spend an hour on a Saturday and deflate and change the inner tube five times in a row. If you have an inflator for the road, test it out at least once and ensure that it works and you can get adequate psi.

You will be thankful you did this first time you flat on the road. If you really want to get good, do this every Saturday for four Saturday's in a row. You can get pretty fast after a while.
