A guy at our club ride last night (tuesday night national championships) rolled up on a 2004 Litespeed Siena. Wow. I was floored...this thing was going 40 if it was going 10. The new carbon seat stays and fork are works of art, full Dura Ace just sealed the deal. Only reason I knew what the heck it was is that litespeed has a 2004 preview online right now.

This is the guys new training bike and what better to top off a great training bike but a SRM Pro.

They've already sold a couple of them at the LBS.

But you liked the looks? I thought it looked really ugly, especially compared to the last years' models.

the new seatstays and fork look great but the new downtube makes the bike look heavier. I still have to see one in real life.

Top tube has new shaping. Down tube is larger and seat tube is oversized. All in all the bike should be stiffer but did it need to be? The Siena shares the same front triangle tubes as the Tuscany--a bike that has been their top seller in the past. The Tuscany buyers at my shop have never seemed the types that were looking for an oversized down tube stiffer rig. At some point they have to change the models some but I am not so sure the Tuscany and Siena needed the stiff tag. Seemed like the Ultimate filled that role just fine, unless the Ultimate has gone away for '04 I'll be a bit puzzled on this one.
