|POLL: Could you go a week without any sport?||Sprint-Nick|

|So anyway I was out today and happened to stumble upon a Sports Illustrated which had an entire article based on taking a week away from *ALL* sport. Meaning no working out, no going to any sport website, watching any sport on TV, heck it even said driving a car fast is a little too sport... could you do it?
More importantly is it necessary to prevent burning out and reminding you why we're so involved in it?

|If I couldn't get out and hike or ride at least once a week, I'd be very sad. And I'm not even addicted to sports.|

|For me, it would depend on how strictly you define "sport." Does hiking in the woods behind my house count?
Generally, though, sure. I'd miss the activity, but it would give me a chance to get the bathroom painted.
Televised sports, no problem. Only one I enjoy is pro football--the rest of the year, I might go two months without even thinking about it.

|No way. I'd be curled up in the fetal position in about 3 days.|

|With a busy job, two small kids and a variety of other interests, I could easily go a month without any sport. It's no big deal.|

|Unless of course the only sport left was baseball. I could go a lifetime without that!|

|Baseball is more of a contest or a game than a sport...|

|One of the worst things about it is lack of exercise and sports. I once did this for five weeks in a row. I'll never be the same. But, compared to what my great grandparents did, it's not that tough. And this question would be a joke for most of the people who are alive today, striving to subsist.|

|It would give me a chance to catch up with friends, family, and the dozens of hobbies I had before I got into this addictive sport.
Besides, if you have an accident (which I did a few weeks back) you have no choice but to take off. It was a welcome week for me (plus I didn't watch the Yankees during the entire time).
