|So anyway, they still have to mail it to me, but I am legit after being here for almost 8 years. Now I just have to wait 5 years to become a citizen - then I can vote - but by then Bush will be gone (hopefully sooner) but thats another disscussion.
Anyway the dude who did my interview looked just like Marco Pantani - I had to keep a straight face.
So today is a good day for me. Cheers.

|on your accomplshing the next step.
And, I might add, you are already sounding like a typical American; tangentially criticizing the current administration after not participating in the election.
To keep on topic, I Didnt know foreigners could conduct naturalization interviews. Is Pantani already green?

|Are you sure you want to become a citizen? The only real advantage IS the right to vote- and I think there are some government jobs that require citizenship... but other than that there are no real advantages. My wife will forego citizenship so we can relocate to Europe if we feel like it.|

|Well, I will stay a South African. But at the end of the day if anything ever happens and you are not a citizen I do belive they can toss you out. But I do need to become a citizen to petition for my Mother to come live here.
Besides are there not perks to being African-American?
