Its my 2 cents that people tend to focus on what happened recently a lot more than what happened 10, 20 or 30+ years ago. Then to compound races play out differently now, training has come a long way and everything else comparing Lance Armstrong to even Greg Lemond is pushing it. Our sport is a constantly evolving discipline requiring more and more specialization making comparisons between riders very difficult. |
