Well, it's my 10th anniversary and I promised the wife I would take her on a trip to Europe without the bike. I know what you are all saying, WHAT NO BIKE!. She did agree the we could rummage around bike shops in the various cities we will be staying at.

So, that brings me to the question. I will be staying in Rotterdam, Holland for 5 nights and staying in a small town called San Danielle in nothern Italy (yea right at the foothills of the Dolomites) for a week. The rest of the time we will only be making short stops through Europe. Does anyone know of any bike shops in these area's?. I do not mind driving a bit since I have a rental car.

Thanks in advance

When we first came to Europe my wife insisted that we go on vacations without bikes. (Unless it's downhill mountainbiking, she doesn't like to ride at all.) However, things changed.... When we started touring new cities and areas, we would walk around until we were tired and cranky, which was only took a few hours. Then one time she gave in & let me bring our mountain bikes. What a blast! We saw 10 times more than before, we were able to run errands, go back to the hotel & get refreshed when we wanted to. Early in the mornings I would ride, or later in the evening when she would take her 1+ hour long shower. Bikes are awsome tools. When in Europe...

Sorry, I don't live in either of those areas so I can't speak for bike shops. You'll find them though, they are everywhere. --I'll be in Northern Italy the week after next looking for them myself...

Fondriest in Padova and Pinarello in Treviso. Both of them do not sell bikes from their factory but many of the local bike shops may carry them. Go to http://www.maporama.com to for maps and directions.

I was going to hit at least one frame manufactures but was not sure which one. If I am correct the main Campagnolo factory is also nearby.
I think they're in Mestre, real close to Venezia - nmconfig
