Aero Bar ?wookieontherun

Hi all,

I bought some profile design century aero bars. They are killer, but a pain to take off and put back on because of the shims that i need to fit my handlebars. Is it ok to apply a bit of adhesive to the back side of the shim to keep it attacked to the aero bars or is that really bad? I'm just thinking some superglue...

The tape PROBABLY wouldn't hurt anything. The problem with almost all aero bars is that the mounting hardware (bolts) is to small for the loads placed on the aero bar. Almost all of us that use aero bars have several of them with the 10-32 mounting screw holes stripped out. When they strip out, there is not enough aluminum mass to retap the holes any larger. So the bar is a throw away. That said, an aerobar is still the cheapest way to go faster on a relatively flat road.
