It's a disease....who else has caught it?OPUSsum

My post down below regarding chain cleaning made me realize how truly sick I am.

Are you this sick?

Here are the symptoms:

Do you-
Clean and polish every spoke nipple?
Clean the grit out of every cog tooth by hand?
Clean those little holes in a shimano cassette with a strip of rag?
Clean every bolt's threads with your thumbs finger nail (rag over it obviously)
Grease the micro-threads on your tubes valve stems?
Clean the inside of your seat tube?
Clean the inside of your seat post?
Clean the sidewalls and tread of your tires?
Completely dissasemble pedals and clean everything?
Clean the inside of cable housing?
Clean the inside of all exposed bolt heads?
Pull both derailleurs of the bike to disassemble and clean?
Clean skewer springs?
Clean the inner tubes?

If you experience any of the above symptoms, congrats your as psycho as I am. It may sound crazy but believe my, I have one CLEAN bike!

P.S. It's done every 500-750km

It's only a disease if you're using your tongue for all this...

Nice pic man! What kind of bike is that?

I'm planning on building up a Specialized Epic with 03' XTR, Mavic Crossmax SL, and SID World Cup.

I love that new XTR!

Cool. I also have an Epic. XTR rear derailleur is it so far
but I'll be adding more as I go. Eventually it will be all
XTR if I can help it. Crossmax wheels would be nice but the
roadie gets Ksyriums first.

Isn't stable-platform suspension sweet? Ha Ha, I'm just thinking of all the non-mtb'ers on here who have no idea what we're talking about.

It's just the best. I'm "Blue 'Goose" over at mtbr.com's
passion board by the way. I love my roadie but I love my
Epic too!

I'm 'steelisreal' over at mtbr. Your right Mountain biking and Road biking are the perfect compliment to each other. I feel everyone who does one should at least try the other. So what kind of road bike do you got?

My roadie is a Giant TCR2.

For a stupidly huge picture of it......

Here's a view of my 2003 XTR rear der on the other bike...

Do you also wash your hands 35 times a day? I have a new handle for you - MONK.
Ok, I got an explanation for that one...OPUSsum

Using soapy water, it gives me a chance to look for leaks, especially those slow ones which I always seem to get.

And no I don't wash my hands 35 times a day!

It's actually 40 times a day. j/k.

I have been known to clean a part or two. Usually after it has stopped working and needs attention....

I will keep the nice bikes looking fresh and taken care of. I also have a bike or two that may not get a rag tossed at it for, uh, quite some time.

To each his own, you wacko, compulsive, nutcase ;-)

My bike is a mess. All I ask is a good chain cleaning.

You can leave the inner tubes and valve stems alone.
polish each spoke nipple? that's OCD dude! nmCritLover

When do you find time to ride???

Heck, I gave my roadie a good cleaning after last Sundays ride because I got tar all over it (yuck!). I probably havn't given my MTB a good cleaning in a couple of months...it'l just get slopped up again.

Whatever puts that smile on your face I guess.

I do tend to keep my roadie (and my MTB) clean just because
of the horrible amount of money I spent to buy these things.

I like to keep them nice, you know?
