NW Silverado shoes -- Any thoughts? I've got a pair sittingbill

here from Sierra Trading Post, bought with a 20% off coupon, so that they cost about $90. Seems like a good deal -- MSRP $180 -- anyone have any experience with them? I guess that they are one or two off from 2002's Evolution, which was NW's top of the line. They don't have a carbon sole but a carbon outsole (a piece that you screw into the plastic sole) for stiffening.

Hey Bill--that's what the Evolutions have too (that is, a carbon plate, running roughly the full length of the shoe, that screws into the shoe (the plates are pedal system specific).

I believe that the Silverado was supposed to be slightly narrower than the Evolutions, which, although not really very wide, are somewhat wide by bike shoe standards.
