|Here is my bio:
5-11, 175 lbs (normally ride a 56cm)
Ride 10 times per month (mtn and road), maybe 250 miles total. Live in Michigan. My mtn bike is a ti soft-tail.
I think I like the semi-compact designs (slightly sloping top tube, little bit taller head tube). Locally I have Specialized, Giant, Trek, Lemond, Cannondale, but I don't mind buying something else over the web from a reputable dealer.
Good resale value is important, as I usually find a reason to buy a new bike every few years (at least I have with the mtb's).
Budget is set at $1700 (or less for something slightly used). For that money, I think I should be able to get something light, with a NICE set of wheels. It may also have a duathlon in it's future (although I do not want a tri bike).

|I would look for a deal on a used (not abused) Litespeed OR Merlin Ti ride. I have seen a few for less, equipted with Ultegra and with Rolf Vectors, Ksyriums and etc...
If you find the right one, in 3 years, it will still be worth almost as much. Just be careful out there!!
