I recieved this email from Ebay the other day :

[Dear darkzapdos,

This is to confirm that your email address on eBay has been changed.

Your e-mail address has been changed from:
asepasep@mail.vu
to:
darkzapdos@yahoo.com
by Customer Support in response to your request.

Thank you for using eBay!

WTF! I notified EBay and now they suspended my perfect account and they want me to fax them my driver's license, a valid phone number, and my eBay user ID to:801-880-8754 to have my account restored. Is this legit?

I guess i will do it eventally but I am just sick of this kind of BS.

Let everybody beware!

PS : Should I email that bastard to leave a nasty message ?

Are you SURE that this isn't the scam? I'd call ebay first, BEFORE faxing anything!

Yeah, I think area code 801 is in Utah and I thought all of ebay was somewhere on the west coast. I wouldn't fax anything.

I am sure ebay will promptly handle all these requests...yeah right...with their usual pre-recorded same-worded useless emails that don't address the original problem...They are horrible at handling any situations that arise. Just getting an email response is a chore sometimes.

I once had a bike listed for sale. In the auction I had a link to additional photos on a personal non-advertised web page...which is allowable. I received a notice from ebay saying I would have to remove the link within 24 hours or the auction would be discontinued...there was less than 2 days left at this point..So I removed the link and they still cut off the auction...of course when the bidders see it was stopped they want no part because they fear SCAM! I can't stand ebay sometimes...

rant over.

If someone has indeed hijacked your Ebay ID you can chat with an Ebay rep to get it all cleared up. I didn't have to fax anything. While chatting with the cs rep they checked my security questions etc and then reissued the password to me.

This is the page you need http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/isgw-account-theft-reporting.html

You didn't have to fax anything to ebay to open you original account, why would you have to just to keep one active? Sound fishy to me too! PS. Why would ebay ask you for your ebay user id? They would already have that!
Thanks for all the advices and rantsSunnyBunny

I will not fax them any information and instead will follow Burdiman advice to SLOWLY resolved this issue. Can't be too cautions these day.

Need to ride to get off the frustration!
