So a few days ago Mr. Swampman posts a poll about getting stung by bees while riding. I'm thinking "I'm lucky--I've never been stung."

On Saturday, while riding the Cool Breeze century between Ventura & Santa Barbara I get stung by a yellow jacket. I'm riding up the one decent hill on the ride and I've got my hands up high on the bars. Apparently Mr. Jacket decides to camp out on my right shifter, and when I crest the hill and put my hands back on the hoods the little jerk nails me right on my finger. That sucked.

On the positive side, though, I discovered I'm not allergic.

Hopefully next year you can ride with us. It's a very nice ride with some great scenery and it's very well supported.
