|I am finally on the quest for new pedals. totalcycling has pretty decent deals on them and seeing as how i am ordering a set of shoes, thought i would splerge [sp?] on new pedals.
what is everyones opinion on the aforementioned pedals. these are my choices. i am riding older Look pedals now and like them quite a lot. I'm looking to spend around $65-100 on pedals.

|The SPD-SL are very similar to the Look design. I like them simply because they don't squeak, and my foot feels closer to the spindle. The Ultegras are quite a bargain (about $100- and you know $25 of that is the cleat).
Did I mention that they don't squeak? Since they are not annodized, they hold up cosmetically quite well. Keep in mind the Look is the original copied by Shimano.

|I currently am riding the celeste Bianchi Look pedals and havent had any problems at all with squeak, however, i have heard many people complaining of the squeak associated with Look pedals.
I do like that they are not annodized and wont show 'scars' as bad as the Look counterparts.

|I have a set of shoes that take a look cleat, could these be used with Ultegra SL's ? The shoes won't take an spd cleat.

|I just got a set of look pedals from Colorado Cyclist for 53.99. They are the black Look 337, so far I only have about 100 miles on them. They look great on my Waterford..|

|was having the exact same debate in my head last week, and i finally went with the ultegras. i also got my price from totalcycling, but went in to performance and they price matched--so, i got them the same day as opposed to getting the goods shipped from ireland. by the way, i really dig the pedals. no problems, good times.|

|i used the pp396 for around 6 months and was happy with their overall performance. the had very smooth bearings and the overall construction was very durable. i recently purchased the new dura-ace from total cycling; mainly for the weight benefit, but also because i started hearing the dreaded LOOK squeak. overall i'm happy with the dura-ace - very smooth entry/exit. my friend just got the ultegra and i think they're only 30 grams heavier but the spindle is different (as well as the bearings, i think). at full retail it's hard to rationalize the dura-ace price but the deal from TC is pretty damn good.|| |
