Allez SLX Comp or Pro riders?marcoxxx

i am considering Allez frames and was wondering how they ride and other impressions. Also wondering if there is much difference between the allez and s-works frames that you can tell besides the $$. This will be for my teen kid who needs a decent road ride, not for racing.

You know that old saying "stiff but compliant" and you always wonder.....Huh???? It's one the other.
My impression is the entire Allez line is
c STIFF STIFF STIFF..........................................................complient

IMHO Specialized principle criteria in design is "build a good crit bike".

BTW: If your thinking getting your teenager an S-Works, is there room in the family for a 43 year old adoptee.

how about their sizing?marcoxxx

I need an equivalent traditional(noncompact) size of 54cm center to top. So i think this is their 52cm??

Also i don't need any more dependents who need bikes...

I think Spec. would tell you that the equivalent compact to a traditional 54cm is their 54 compact. there's enough varibility between manfacturers that they are both right and wrong.

Allez Pro vs TCR 2Giant_Tom

I went from an '02 TCR 2 which was a bit too small for me to an '03 Allez Pro. The TCR was way stiffer compared to the Pro, I'm very happy with the ride of the Pro and don't feel beat up at all after a ride. One thing that might contribute to the ride difference is the new Pave' seat post with the Zertz insert that comes on the Pro, but I also think there is enough difference in compliance in the frame to make the Pro ride better.
