Their road frame, the Brodie Rodie is a Scandium frame with full carbon fork and is a full Ultegra machine with Shimano wheels.

Anyone have any experience with them, or thoughts on Brodies generally???

Good Can. west coast, MTBs. Nice looking, sorry no more! nmSpunout

A friend that I worked with at a bike shop had a couple of their bikes in the mid 90's. He had a True Temper OX Plat. MTB bike and a Roadie as well, which, if I remember right, at tht time was a steel frame of Columbus Genius of Brain tubing.. I don't remember which. Both were really nice bikes. Everything you would expect from a handbuilt custom builder. Nice welds, straight frame, custom sizing, custom colors and decals. Don't know if they are still like that, but they were very nicely built bikes. My suggestion is to call them and ask them if they actually build the bike and if so, can you get custom specs, or is it made for them? Ask them if it is built in-house, or is it built overseas and they paint it. Either way is really not that bad, but made in-house is much better.

I looked into Brodie MTB's a few years ago. At that time the bikes were handmade in BC. I believe most , if not all of their bikes are foreign made now.

E-mail them at They were quite helpful in the past.

but I've had one of their Unibomber single speed mountain bikes for 5 years, and its my favorite bike in my quiver.

They build nice bikes, and you don't seem them around much (unless you're into having the same bike as everybody else...not that there's anything wrong with that).

ps. you can never have toomanybikes
