Hi. I am currently riding a 2 year old Ritchey WCS stem-the stem is called a 110, but measures out to 115mm (handlebar clamp to middle of aheadset preload bolt/top cap). This is fine on my current bike, but the next one I am building up has a longer top tube-I need exactly a 110 stem. Can anyone recommend a brand or specific stem that actually measures 110mm? It needs to fit 25.8 bars. This is kind of curious, because I also have a Ritchey WCS stem (2003 model) in 100mm-it measures exactly 100mm, not 105mm as you would think, based on previous experience. Maybe manufacturing changed in those 2 years?

on threadless stems, you measure along the SIDE of the extension from the center of the bar clamp to the center of the steerer clamp. Don't always expect them to be as marked even when you measure correctly. I have a profile that is marked 120 and is a 130.A ritchey WCS is marked 120 and is a 130.
5mm would drive me nuts! ;-) nmSpunout
