|Hey peopes...I already own a steel IF so I know what thats all about, but I want to invest in the best ti frame on earth and of course its narrowed to moots and if. I want to go full custom and would like to have a modified cross bike with lower bb for roads...How 'bout those breezer dropouts on the moots and then theres the straight gauge vs. butted debate...FYI I'm 6'5 220# and like to spin but also can lay down a good sprint...Thanks for your input...|

|If you truly want to go full custom, you will have to rule out Moots. You only get to select from the tubesets they already have made and will not do a strict custom order. IF would be your best bet. Not sure why you wouldn't want to include Serotta or Seven in you full custom options. Just giving you another option to consider.|

It's all about the shot peening finish (which IF uses.)
Moots frames are amazing as well, but they charge a pretty penny for custom.

|At your weight Serottas Legend may be the best bet because they do so much with the tubing. Also, I spend a lot of time on the Serotta and Calfee boards and the moderator, who has a Calfee, Legend and Spectrum(among others) was asked to choose which one he liked best. He chose his Spectrum ti made by Tom Kellog. If you can get to see him personally, he will take a great deal of time to fit you and the finish on his bikes is second to none. Spectrum-cycles.com.|

|from everything I've read & seen, Serotta does the best job in tuning rides for bigger riders.
Seven has a good reputation for ride tuning also.
Spectrum, was in my final two. Tom Kellogg will fit you himself if you go to Allentown, Pa. Difference for me was turnaround time. I got my Legend in 4 weeks, the Spectrum was promised closer to 8 (& Spectrum tends to miss it's dates).
If you want you Ti painted (like I did) Serotta & Spectrum were the two obvious choices. Seven's Paint is so-so.
IF was ruled out for me after I test rode the serotta & IF side by side. The Serotta was much closer to a steel ride, the IF was TOO compliant (for me).
If you are on the west Coast, look at Holland in San Diego. He is in the same shop as Joe Bell (Best painter in the country) & makes some of the best Custom Ti in the country.
In the end, if you can get a great fit from Moots, go for it (vs IF). If you need any addition customization, go with Serotta (IMO)
