Need to vent for a secondcyclejim

Why are some people such morons? Today on the last few miles of my ride a guy approaches on his bike from the opposite direction wearing one of those orange safety vests, the kind you see construction workers or crossing guards wearing. That should have been my first clue. I was well within my lane of the bike trail, nowhere near close to this guy as we passed. As we are passing each other, he yells "HEY" as loud as he could, apparently in an attempt to startle me. I almost turned around and gave chase to push him off his bike or perhaps just beat the crap out of him. But I restrained myself and kept riding. I don't understand some people man, this really pissed me off!!

It was a great ride besides that!
These are humans we are talking about?DougSloan

There are over 6 billion bags of chemicals we call "humans" on the planet. It appears that the chemo-electric process loosely called "thinking" that may or may not take place in these bags of chemicals is highly variable and susceptible to errors and short-circuits. The processes are so lacking predictability and consistency that it would be unreasonable to expect any randomly encountered unit to behave appropriately. Therefore, attempt to ignore the random encounters with the non-debugged units and celebrate the more rare encounters with the fully functioning on-line units.

Just moved to Wichita Falls TX. I thought that E. Tn was bad, but I am living surrounded by the 'non de-bugged' types here. It seems that some bozo in the local government decided that Apartment complexes could not turn down section 8 (welfare) aplicants. It only takes of few of these sociatal parasites to ruin a neighborhood. Thank god I will be moving in November!

thanks for lettin me piggy back on your vent!

Wow.... one person yelling "Hey" on what sounds like a MUT is enough to make you rant???????

If that's the truth, then please do stay off the roads!

My encounter this morningSpecialTater

Memphis has just published some bike routes on its website (note no signs or designations on the roads, just maps). I rode three of them Saturday since I don't have time for our group rides and rode one this morning.

Riding down one of the streets in an urban neighborhood, a fellow cyclist in his driving cap and silver large frame shades is headed straight for me (wrong side of the road). About 50 yards from him, I yell for him to pay attention. It startles him and wakes him from his stupor. He at least sees me now and I tell him I'm going to the right and begin hugging the curb. He gets next to me and yells "OOOGAAAABOOOOGAAAOOOOOGA" or something like that. I told him to stay out of the way and started laughing. It really was hilarious to experience that at 7:15 on a beautiful Monday morning. I'm sure he's like a platinum-selling soul singer or something.

Damn that was wordy. Sorry.
