My trip to Marblehead, MA for Tyler's homecoming...jtferraro

Sorry for the delay in posting these. The pics aren't quite as nice as those in that slideshow (from yesterday's link, ), but I did want to share a few of them w/all of you. I just double checked w/the above link and realized many of my pics are similar, so I've decided to share just those pics that are unique from that slideshow. Anyway, my girlfriend & I headed up to Marblehead @4pm Wednesday, directly from work. It took us 2 hrs., 45 mins. from Hartford, w/traffic, construction, etc. For that reason, we missed the initial parade (which started @5:45pm), but caught the majority of the park ceremony. It was a great night and it was so nice to see such a turnout! I have to tell you, Tyler definitely seems like a real nice guy - he's so approachable and accomodating! As one of the guest speakers put it, he's a world class person, *and* a world class cyclist!

Enjoy the pics!

P.S. Last night I caught that week in review program on OLN. They had a special bit on Tyler's homecoming parade & cememony, including an interview Richard Freis had w/Tyler. They also mentioned that Tyler threw the first pitch at a recent Boston Red Sox game, (which I had already heard from a friend who lives in Cambridge), and also appeared on the Morning Show w/Matt Lauer? I actually heard an interview w/Tyler on NPR, too. Also, those of you who haven't seen the interview he had w/Frankie Andreu at the NYC Cycling Championships, here's the link:

I thought this was a decent pic of Tyler's wife, Haven. From what I understand, she went to see Tyler after his accident and wasn't originally planning to stay for the entire Tour duration. As you may know, she did stay...and so did their dog, Tugboat. Haven was awarded at the ceremony for being by Tyler's side and dealing w/the press! She had the best seat in the house during Tyler's stage win, as she was in the helicopter. How perfect!
Quarantine the dog?filtersweep

How did Tugboat get back into the US? Seriously- this is a real issue. I really wish they offered pet visas. Generally, European countries (at least EU and Shengin) allow pets in, but the US doesn't seem to allow them BACK to the US.
If you can aford the test/vets you can almost go anywhere-nmandy02

No quarantine going to France or coming back.Tower

My sister just got back from a year stint in France, and they didn't quarantine their dog going TO France nor on their return to the US.

Not only did he sign one of these posters for me (and for many other fans), but he also was gracious enough to sign the inside of a TdF history book I brought along!

"The Making of a Legend" - How Tyler Hamilton Became the East Coast's Greatest

I could swear I also saw him on the cover of VeloNews, w/the words "Tough as Nails" written next to him. Anyone have that issue or see it?

Just noticed the article goes on to say:jtferraro

I figured this was a good photo opp! ;-)

Another guy called his wife on his cell phone, handed his phone to Tyler, and said Tyler, just say "Hi Sarah, it's Tyler Hamilton", and he DID IT! =)

Then another cyclist asked if I'd take his pic w/Tyler...jtferraro

and if I could then email him the pic. I said, "Sure, as long as you return the favor!". This guy is a college student in the Boston area.

I know, I know...a little blurry, I know.
