|I posted recently a ride report of this ride and some of you showed interest on the route.
I'll be doing it again this Sunday. If still interested here is the info:
Sunday Century (actually 124 miles this week)
August 10, 2003
Note new time for this ride: 7am!
Something special this Sunday! A preview of the new 200k route we plan to use for an ACP Brevet next year. That's 200k as in kilometers, or 124 miles for us Yanks. Thus we start at 7am to give us a little extra time. Those of you who have done the Live Oak Century from Moonlight Beach will recognize much of this but we've lengthened it, and removed a couple of big hills.
We start at Doyle Park in La Jolla (actually the UTC area) and head out through Rancho Santa Fe, Del Dios, Escondido, Old Castle, Courser and Rice Canyons, the little town of Rainbow, then back through Live Oak and Fallbrook for our favorite lunch stop at Dominic's Deli in Fallbrook. Then we head back to the coast via the Ocenside bike path and down the 101. Estimate about 5000' of climbing.
We're trying to arrange a Spiz Stop in Live Oak also.
Route sheets will be provided, and great company as always!
Starting time: 7:00 am (please be there by 6:45 so we can roll at 7)
Location: Doyle Park (adjacent to Doyle Elementary School, 3950 Berino Ct, San Diego, CA 92037)
Ride Leader/Cell Phone: Barclay Brown, cell 760-497-7023.
Starting Point via Mapquest:
