In Europe (French TV, Eurosport) the coverage is live and of the whole stage without commercials. It includes pre-race interviews and a long post-race interview with the winners of the stage. I saw Tyler's interview the day that he won. The first hour of most stages is very fast and exciting. Atacks after attacks happen until the breaks forms.
Exposition about the Tour also at the Hotel de Ville...Bruno S

The coins were for sale at banks. Maybe the Credit Lionesse web site has info about how to buy them in the U.S.

Aug 8, 2003 8:03 AM
That's a Texas flag flying over the Hotel Crillon, replacing the French tricolor for a day or two. Also, next door, smack in the center of the picture is the American Embassy, directly behind the grey press structure. US Marines will call you sir or ma'am there, no matter how disgusting you look.

I actually thought they were going to give us random jerseys, i.e. green ones, polka dot ones, and yellow. The little pamphlet I got said so but when I got my jersey, I noticed everybody was getting yellow ones! And these are the same ones that you can get from the official souvenir vans (the "retro jersey" that they call, except they say 1903 and TdF on it...

It was neet to see a throng of yellow jerseys but I was actually hopeing for a polka dot one...

During the ride, I'm surprised how smooth it went. I saw one lady being attended to by cops and medics presumable cause of an accident but did not see any other problems after the first 1/2 mile of traffic...

Great pics. Not meaning to be nitpicking, but that's an Alfa Romeo, (166 I think), Jean Marie LeBlanc is standing in, not a Fiat.
