|My family is going to purchase 3 road bikes to use for triathlons. Have decided to get road bikes instead of time trial/tri bikes for now. Have researched the sizing charts for frame sizes and decided to get Trek 2200 or higher model (105 or higher comps) on this classified site or e-bay. Obviously money is an issue and LBS is a long drive away.
My questions are....... Do I have to be concerned with a bike that is a couple of years old but well maitained? Is a bike that has been ridden alot one to stay away from?
Some of the bikes have small dents in top tube supposedly from storage, not crashes. I understand basic maintenance as I keep 4 quality mtb's tuned. Just don't want to buy a "good deal" bike and find out all the comps need replacing and the frame is spent. Thanks in advance.
