Gloves are goodgodot

Today I made a not graceful exit from the "I've never crashed club".

Went down going about 25mph around a bend. My fault. I'm extremely happy that no one else was injured and that my injuries are minor (mostly road rash). Best of all the bike is relatively unscathed, bar tape and a scraped up brake lever. (Don't worry, I made sure to check the bike first and then me)

I am extremely glad that I was wearing my gloves. On really hot days, or when the mood strikes me, I've gone out without the gloves. Never again. There is a hole in palm of my right glove that you could easily pass a 50 cent piece through. Had I not been wearing them, I'd most likely be at the dr's office right now getting my hand picked clean and put back together.

So please, do me a favor and wear your gloves....

Have a good day.
Glad to hear you're okay. (nm)kjr39

Helmets are good toosidley

Had a similar experience couple of weeks ago... I was at the door holding my helmet thinking "I am going slow tonight, it's really hot and my helmet stinks to high heavan." At the last minute the voice of reason kicked in and I put on my helmet. 20 minutes later, I'm on the pavement (I hit a jogger in Central Park who cut accross the roadway).

I and the jogger were fine but the annoying rasberry on my forehead could have been a lot worse had I knot warn my hamlet (sorry I shouldn't poke pun at head injury) :)
