Since I don't want to be rude and disrespect you by not replying I would like to think it is indeed a single speed. If you look at the cranks it appears the bike has only one chainring. Now this leaves a mystery on whether it has a couple gears at the back either through a cogset or internal hub. However, the "One $%^&ing speed" solves that.

Hope this helps you out.

Cheers,
Nick
