|I was looking around for a frame when I came across a Time VX special Pro... its about $2700 frame, fork, seat post, and stem ... I was wondering your opinion on it quality wise, ride wise.. etc...|

|They look friggen awesome. It is one of the bikes I would consider getting (if I was getting a new bike). But $2700 is a lot of cash ola.
If I was you I would look at some other bikes as well...
I have a colnago dream plus (sweet ride, I love it) and I have a Fondriest (the holy grail for me). I dont think you will find a better deal than a fondriest right now, but look around - here is the Fondriest web site (they have a big sale) http://www.fondriest-usa.com/index.php
Good luck and post photos of your new ride when you get it.

|I feel somewhat inferior when viewing some of you guys "rides"! Sheesh, I have a stable of bikes in the basement but they are old! Nice but by no means these new age wonder bikes...I best go back and hide in the retro section.
Regarding the Look.
I have ridden the older Look models and Loved them. they are really comfortable and very well made. at that price tag...if you can afford it...go for it. I would opt for something else as suggested above. You might even be able to get a complete that is respectable for $2700.

|I know some people here don't necessarily respect Bicyclings opinions, but here it is.

|Check out this last months Cyclesport. They had a good article on Time frames. They showed pictures of the plant in France.|

|I think some years back the Time Helix frame(was this the name?) and the Look frames were being punched out by the same...
then again...I could be getting old and forgetting...

|Ya but... theres allways a but isnt there... I'm 6'5" and look only gose up to 59- 60 depending on the model, same with fondriest. I need around a 63-64.... Which limits my options... Unfortunatly... Thanks fot the input though :)|

|I'm sure it's excellent (geometry is perfect for me, but price too high). At that price, I'd consider a Calfee.|

|My wife and I test-rode a couple of Time frames at Velo Pasadena in 2000, before the frames got a team contract and before they became famous. My impression of the frame was that it was harder-riding than some of the aluminum frames I was also test-riding. It accelerated extremely well. It had the sort of snaky handling that would make it scream down a tricky mountain pass, but would make it slightly tough to control on long straights. In other words, an angry, no-nonsense, full-out racing frame. Too much bike for this old guy. My wife, however, just loved the Time. She still talks about how great it felt. In any case, my wife and I ended up buying Colnago Dreams, which believe it or not are mellow by comparison.|
