I didn't ride in today rather drove my car in and decided to ride home as I'm going out to dinner up there with my friends and they will be driving me right by my office to get my car. I think commuting 25 miles will be very doable. It took me 2 hours due to a flat tire. Granted I'm fat and out of shape and it took me about 1 hr 40 min to do 27 miles. Not too bad I guess. The way home is mostly down hill ;) except for the last two miles which are all up hill. There is no way for me to ever end my ride without riding 2 miles uphill. Unless I don't go home ;)
Thanks for the advice,
GIl

25mi is nice distance, just enough to get cardio workout. My one way commute is 32mi/2hr, a few small hills. I prefer it to doing 2-way which is 16mi with leap frog park and ride.

So you commute 32 miles round trip? I make my commute 20 miles if I took a bus for the last five miles to work. It's a 5 mile up hill section which should make the ride in the morning very interesting.

it is 32mi either I do one or 2-way, but I'd rather do 1 ride. Takes less time (less dressing/undressing) and I find short 1hr more taxing, it takes ~40min for good warm up.
Since buses usually move with the same avg there's no point in taking one IMHO.

I'd like to get better at climbing so a 5 mile climb at the end of a 28 mile ride will be a good training routine... Today some old geazer passed me, and was laying on the horn the whole time. A mile down the road I was putting my brakes on to slow down for him. Interesting people on the road... Now once my Ortlieb Panniers come in I'll be all set to commute laptop and all..
